Frequently Asked Questions

What is The Angelminers Pool?

We are a Bitcoin  Cash (BCH) solo-mining pool with a heart. We provide the infrastructure for miners to chase full block rewards, with the unique twist that 33% of the block reward (minus pool fee) is donated to neutral, EU-recognized charities.

Which charities do you support?

We select at least four different charities for every block mined. We exclusively support EU-recognized, non-political, non-governmental, non-religious, and agenda-free organizations. More information.

Is this a solo or shared pool?

This is a Solo-Mining Pool. Payouts only occur if you (or your hardware) find a block. Unlike PPLNS or PPS pools, you do not earn "fractions" of Bitcoin for shares unless a block is actually found by your worker.

Why mine BCH instead of BTC?

Accessibility. BTC difficulty has reached a point where solo-mining is nearly impossible for individuals. BCH allows our "Angelminers" to actually find blocks and make a difference. We use the SHA256 algorithm, meaning we can switch to other coins in the future if they provide a better opportunity for our community and our charities.

What happens if I find a block?

Congratulations! Once the block is confirmed by the network (usually 100 confirmations), the reward is split: 67% is sent to your designated wallet address, and 33% (minus pool fee) is sent to charitable funds for immediate distribution. See Share the wealth

What happens if I never find a block? This is taking so long!

Solo-mining is a test of patience and probability. Unlike standard pools that pay small amounts for every share, solo-mining is 'all or nothing.' Because the BCH network difficulty is high, it can take weeks, months, or even years for a single rig to hit a block.

However, you are doing something vital for the blockchain!
While everyone waits for the 'Eureka' moment of finding a block, your hardware is performing two crucial roles every single second:

- Securing the Network: Every hash you submit is a vote for the security and immutability of the blockchain. By keeping your hardware pointed at a solo-mining pool, you are helping to protect the network against 51% attacks and ensuring that no single entity has too much control.

- True Decentralization: Large "shared" pools often centralize power. By solo-mining, you are acting as an independent node in the ecosystem. This is exactly how Satoshi Nakamoto intended the network to function—as a distributed web of individual "Angels" rather than a few massive corporations.

Even without a block reward yet, your hardware is the heartbeat of a decentralized future. You aren't just waiting for a payout; you are providing the backbone for a global, censorship-resistant financial system that empowers the very people our charities aim to help.

Can I use "Lottery Miners" (Bitaxe, NerdMiner, etc.)?

Absolutely! We love lottery miners. They are the perfect "set it and forget it" way to support our mission while still giving you a chance at a handsome payout.

Where can I track my mining progress?

We provide a comprehensive dashboard for all our miners. Head over to pool.angelminers.org to access the live statistics page. There, you can check your hashrate, view pool-wide data, and celebrate your worker’s milestones.

Who is behind The Angelminers Pool?

The pool is a project of the SEM Foundation, a Netherlands-based non-profit with a long history of supporting innovation. Founded in the 1990s to support electronic music pioneers, SEM expanded into the digital frontier in 2010 by launching the original "Angelminers" pool. In 2026, we completely revamped and optimized the pool, shifting our focus to the BCH network to continue our mission of combining cutting-edge technology with global philanthropy. Can i donate crypto currency instead of mining?

Not a miner but want to support our mission? You can donate crypto to the addresses below. Your gift may be tax-deductible! We practice full transparency by publishing the destination of all funds alongside on-chain ledger proof. Read more about donating crypto.
